Hilla is the Program Coordinator and part-time Director of the School of Social Work Mental Health Clinic at UBC Okanagan Campus and a Registered Social Worker in BC. She is a young academic with a strong interest in evidence-based clinical practice. Hilla holds an Honour’s BA in Psychology and an MSW from the University of UBC Okanagan. Hilla is interested in clinical research and is passionate about studying mental health and trauma in children. She has worked for several years as a Research Assistant for the Center for the Study of Services to Children and Families at UBC. Her work for the Center has led to a few publications and submitted manuscripts. Hilla’s clinical experience includes working with at-risk foster children and youth, supporting adults with mental illnesses, and proving behavioural therapy to young children with Autism. She completed her MSW Field Placement at the School of Social Work Mental Health Clinic, providing mental health services and support to families with children with mental disorders.
Hilla joined the UBC Okanagan School of Social Work as a Lecturer in January 2017. In July of 2018, Hilla transitioned into the role of Program Coordinator for the School. Hilla also works as the Director, Clinical Teaching, Supervision at the School of Social Work Mental Health Clinic on site at the UBC Okanagan Campus.
