Social Work Clinic DirectorLecturer
Hilla is a the Interprofessional Social Work Clinic Director and a Lecturer with the School of Social Work at University of British Columbia Okanagan and a Registered Social Worker in BC. She is a young academic with a strong interest in evidence-based clinical practice. Hila holds an Honour’s BA in Psychology and an MSW from the University of British Columbia Okanagan. Hilla is interested in clinical research and is passionate about studying mental health and trauma in children. She has worked for several years as a Research Assistant for the Center for the Study of Services to Children and Families at UBC. Her work for the Center has led to a few publications and submitted manuscripts. Hilla’s clinical experience includes working with at-risk foster children and youth, supporting adults with mental illnesses, and proving behavioural therapy to young children with Autism. She completed her MSW Field Placementat the UBCO Interprofessional Clinic, providing mental health services to families with children with mental disorders.
Hilla joined the School of Social Work as a lecturer in January 2017. She provides clinical teaching and supervision at the Interprofessional Clinic and acts as the Social Work Clinic Director.
